ASSCAT Showcases Local Innovations at Caraga RDP Caravan

The Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) was the focal point today, April 12, 2024, during the Agusan del Sur leg of the Caraga Regional Development Plan (RDP) 2023-2028 Provincial Caravan held in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.
 
Under the leadership of Dr. Joy C. Capistrano, President of ASSCAT, the institution showcased its innovative achievements, featuring a range of equipment and food products derived from locally sourced agri-fishery materials. Notable creations included Hito and Haloan Ice Cream, Tilapia Crackers, and Kaong Crackers, highlighting ASSCAT’s efforts to utilize local resources in product development.
 
Governor Santiago B. Cane, Jr., welcomed attendees, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in advancing the region’s development agenda.
 
The event garnered support from government officials, including Mayor Kirk A. Asis of Bayugan City, Regional Director Arlan M. Mangelen of the Department of Agriculture Caraga, and Regional Director Nonito M. Tamayo of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Caraga. Their presence highlighted the shared commitment to the RDP 2023-2028’s i2FAME strategy, aimed at industrializing and innovating various sectors.
 
ASSCAT’s participation in the provincial caravan reflects its role in promoting local innovation and sustainable development in Agusan del Sur.
