Today, at its regular flag-raising ceremony, Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) recognized 26 individuals and groups for their contributions to the recent “Serve with JOY: Scout in Action Extension Program for Indigenous Peoples.” This outreach, held on October 31 in Dinagat, San Marcos, Bunawan, was part of ASSCAT’s observance of Scouting Month and Indigenous Peoples Month.

ASSCAT President Dr. Joy Capistrano led the recognition, joined by Vice President for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance Dr. Carmelo S. Llanto and Vice President for Student Affairs and Services Janice Dini-ay. Honorees included ASSCAT Rover Scouts, PASAKK, ASSCAT Supreme Student Government (SSG), Indigenous Peoples Youth Club (IPYC), Kab-ot Youth Organization, Agusan Youth Alliance Network (AYAN), and the ASSCAT Association of Non-Teaching Personnel (ANPA), whose combined efforts provided school supplies, clothing, slippers, and food packs to Indigenous communities in need.

Dr. Capistrano praised the volunteers and sponsors, underscoring their commitment to community service and the positive impact of their support on local Indigenous families.
