The Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) once again proved its mark in academic competitions as the College of Agriculture (CA) proudly represented the institution in the Regional Search for Kabataang Organic Agriculture (OA) Quiz Bee, held at the Grand Palace Hotel, Butuan City, in celebration of the 11th Organic Agriculture Month.

Among 41 participants from various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) across the Caraga Region, ASSCAT’s 3rd-year BS Animal Science student, Ms. Aivy Pelegro, secured 7th place, earning recognition among the top contenders of the event, guided by her coach, Ms. Jizabelle L. Berja.

The competition highlighted the important role of young minds in promoting and advancing organic agriculture, a key to building a more resilient and environmentally conscious farming sector in the region.

This achievement contributes to the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, and Life on Land, as ASSCAT continues to cultivate future leaders in sustainable agriculture.
