ASSCAT Students Place 4th in World Wetlands Day Pitch Deck Competition

Three students from the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) showcased their innovative ideas in wetland conservation, securing 4th place in the Pitch Deck Competition during the World Wetlands Day 2025 Celebration hosted by the Agusan Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary Protected Area Management Office (PAMO-AMWS).

Daisyre I. Belgrado, Aivonny P. Corbita, and John Lloyd Fernandez, guided by their adviser Mr. John Paul A. Camino, presented “BioFilTREEtion: Clean Waters, Thriving Marshes.” Their project introduced an eco-friendly filtration system aimed at enhancing water quality and biodiversity in wetland ecosystems.

#WorldWetlandsDay, celebrated annually on February 2, raises awareness about the importance of wetlands in environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and biodiversity conservation. The Agusan Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the largest and most ecologically significant wetlands in the Philippines, serves as a vital habitat for diverse flora and fauna, including rare and migratory bird species.

ASSCAT takes pride in its students’ achievement, reflecting the institution’s commitment to innovative environmental solutions and sustainable development.

Congratulations, ASSCATians!
