On July 17, 2024, the 19th NAKEM International Conference began at the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT), co-hosted by the NAKEM Conferences Consortium and NAKEM Conferences Philippines. The event’s theme, “REFRAMING INDIGENEITY AND AFFIRMING BELONGING, INCLUSION, DIVERSITY, AND EQUITY,” brought together a wide array of scholars, educators, and cultural advocates to discuss and promote inclusive practices in education.

 

Day one featured engaging keynote addresses, insightful presentations, and vibrant cultural performances, setting a dynamic tone for the rest of the conference.

 

During the opening program, the NAKEM Conferences Consortium and NAKEM Conferences Philippines awarded a plaque of membership to ASSCAT, accepted by College President Dr. Joy C. Capistrano.
