A sense of purpose filled the Sports and Socio-Cultural Center today, May 30, 2025, as the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) celebrated the joint graduation rites of its National Service Training Program (NSTP) completers.
Split into two sessions, the morning honored the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) cadets, while the afternoon recognized graduates of the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) and Literacy Training Service (LTS).
CPT JERRY D. GASOC (OS) PA, Guest of Honor and Speaker for the ROTC graduation, commended the cadets for their discipline and readiness to serve. Adding to the significance of the event, the Oath of Allegiance of the ROTC Basic Cadets was led by MAJ GILBERT O. GA PA (RES), followed by a message from Vice President for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance, VP Carmelo S. Llanto, who emphasized the value of civic duty and leadership.
The afternoon session shifted focus to the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) and Literacy Training Service (LTS) graduates. Guest of Honor and Speaker Engr. Dante D. Sayon delivered an address that highlighted the broader impact of community engagement and encouraged the graduates to continue being agents of change.
This milestone event also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 through training and literacy initiatives, SDG 16 by fostering civic responsibility and public service, and SDG 17 through collaborative efforts among educational institutions, government units, and the community.
For ASSCAT’s NSTP graduates, the day marked not just a culmination of training but the beginning of their active roles as responsible, service-oriented citizens.
