Happy Women's Month!

On this #PurpleFriday, the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology, under the guidance of its under the guidance of its ASSCAT GAD Champion, Dr. Joy C. Capistrano and ASSCAT GAD Focal Point System led by Ms. Leolyn Mae P. Jusay, brought bundles of joy to the women of the Indigenous People community in Bunawan through an outreach program in celebration of National Women’s Month.
 
College President Joy C. Capistrano, also a proud member of the Indigenous People (IP) community known as Bae Kabugwason, graced the event. She was warmly welcomed by the IP community along with the ASSCAT GFPS. President Capistrano, celebrating her birthday today, engaged with the women of the IP community in celebrating empowered womanhood.
 
She expressed gratitude and happiness at seeing the empowered community of IP women in Bunawan. She also praised the IP leaders for implementing programs and projects that benefit the IP community, funded by their royalty share from a mining company.
 
Bae Mahubay Elvira G. Catuburan, RM, MBA, extended heartfelt thanks to ASSCAT for this lifetime opportunity. According to her, it is the “first time that the women of the IP community in Bunawan were able to gather.” The IP community also greeted President Joy and conveyed their well wishes for her birthday.
 
This extension and outreach activity is also in partnership with the ASSCAT Office of the President and the ASSCAT-Supreme Student Government under the leadership of Hon. Justene Dela Peña.
