June 17, 2024 – Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur – Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) was honored with a Special Recognition during the culminating ceremony of Agusan del Sur’s 57th Founding Anniversary celebration held at the Datu Lipus Makapandong Cultural Center.

The recognition highlights ASSCAT’s active role and significant contributions to various provincial programs, including cultural, educational, and developmental initiatives aligned with the province’s growth.

Leading the ASSCAT delegation was College President Dr. Joy C. Capistrano, together with vice presidents, directors, deans, faculty, and staff—joining the week-long celebration that ran from June 12 to 17, 2024.

The final night of festivities—featuring the Binaga Tu Agusan and Celebrity Night—was a colorful showcase of local cuisine, music, and performances from national and regional artists, adding vibrance to the celebration and drawing crowds from across the province.

“We are deeply grateful for this recognition,” said Dr. Capistrano. “ASSCAT remains committed to serving the people of Agusan del Sur through education, innovation, and partnership.”

The celebration is part of the annual Naliyagan Festival, a beloved tradition that reflects the province’s cultural heritage, achievements, and enduring sense of community.
