Happy Birthday, Hon. Gemima A. Olam!
A simple “Kumusta ka?” can go a long way in fostering a workplace built on empathy, openness, and connection. This was the spirit behind the Kamustahan Session held on July 22, 2025, at the Board Room of the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT), bringing together the College’s Job Order (JO) personnel for a meaningful dialogue with the administration.
The session served as both a welcome and recognition event for newly hired and renewed JO employees, appreciating their contributions and continued service to the institution.
More than a routine check-in, the gathering created a space where personnel could openly share their experiences, raise workplace concerns, and receive updates directly from key administrative officials. It was a step toward strengthening transparency, mutual understanding, and institutional support.
Present during the session were Vice President for Administration, Finance, and Planning, VP Janice S. Dini-ay; Supervising Administrative Officer, Ms. Ruth S. Desamparo; and Human Resource Officer III, Ms. Millisent O. Dialde. They addressed questions, clarified HR matters, and reaffirmed the College’s commitment to improving the working conditions of its JO personnel.
The initiative aligns with ASSCAT’s support for Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, by upholding inclusive and fair employment practices across all levels of the institution.
Through continuing efforts like this, ASSCAT reaffirms its dedication to cultivating a workplace culture that values every member of its workforce—regular or job order alike.
