The Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) proudly announces the granting of its first patent for the invention titled “Solar Tracking System”, registered under PH 1/2023/050173, developed by Engr. Federico F. Lasta Jr.
This pioneering innovation features a solar tracking control system with manual override designed to optimize solar energy collection and protect solar panels from potential damage during adverse weather conditions. With a single switch, users can shift to manual mode—ensuring safety, efficiency, and reliability without the need for system shutdown or disassembly.
The successful patent registration was made possible through the support and facilitation of the Innovation and Development Office.
The patented technology underscores ASSCAT’s commitment to advancing research and innovation that promote Clean and Affordable Energy (SDG 7), Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9), and Climate Action (SDG 13).
This milestone reflects the College’s growing contribution to sustainable development and technological advancement in the region and beyond.
