The Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) has successfully concluded the three-day Institutional Accreditation conducted by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) from November 24 to 26, 2025.
College President Dr. Joy C. Capistrano, together with the Vice Presidents and the Quality Assurance Management Office (QAM) under Director Shiela G. Reyes, coordinated the preparation and participation of all units throughout the evaluation.
ASSCAT acknowledges the AACCUP Accreditation Team chaired by AACCUP Executive Director Dr. Milabel E. Ho, with accreditors Dr. Cecilia N. Gascon for Area I, Dr. Iris April L. Ramirez for Areas II and III, Dr. Ronald Allan S. Mabunga for Areas IV and V, Dr. Anita C. Sornito for Areas VI and VII, Dr. Lawrence Anthony U. Dollente for Areas VIII and IX, Ms. Roxanne M. Apostol from the Finance Unit, and Mr. Jimson L. Lamarroza from Information Technology and Quality Assurance. Their assessment offered the institution sound recommendations that will help refine systems, documentation, and operational practices.
Throughout the three-day visit, faculty and staff presented reports, evidence, and processes that reflect the college’s current institutional performance. The accreditation allowed ASSCAT to take stock of its progress, identify gaps, and determine actions that will strengthen governance, instruction, research, extension, services, and resource management.
ASSCAT also recognizes the hard work of its internal teams for each accreditation area. Area working groups, composed of team leaders and members from academic and administrative units, ensured the completeness and readiness of the required documents and presentations. Their preparation contributed significantly to a smooth and organized review.
The value of this accreditation for the ASSCAT community is straightforward. It provides an external, professional evaluation of where the institution stands and what must be improved. It sharpens internal systems, informs planning, and strengthens the college’s ability to deliver programs and initiatives that matter to the communities it serves.
With the completion of the Institutional Accreditation, ASSCAT continues its commitment to steady, evidence-based improvement and to developing programs and services that respond to the needs of Agusan del Sur and the wider Caraga Region.
Congratulations to the ASSCAT community for completing this important institutional undertaking.
To God be the glory!
