Earlier today, November 12, 2025, the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT), led by College President Dr. Joy C. Capistrano, together with Vice President for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance Dr. Carmelo S. Llanto, Board Secretary Dr. Francis Tom Paredes and Executive Assistant Janice C. Puspos, paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari, Commissioner of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and Chairperson-Designate of the ASSCAT Board of Trustees (BOT).

The meeting centered on strengthening ASSCATโ€™s continuing partnership with CHED toward advancing quality higher education, institutional governance, and research-driven innovation.

The ASSCAT delegation also had the opportunity to meet Commissioner Ricmar P. Aquino, where they briefly discussed the consortium of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) supporting the โ‚ฑ20 Rice Challengeโ€”a collaborative initiative aimed at promoting affordable rice production through science, technology, and innovation.
