PUBLIC ADVISORY: ASSCAT Main Campus Resumes Face-to-Face Classes
The Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) successfully held the Competency Standards Development Workshop for Soil Technician Level III on October 22, 2025, at the DTC Function Hall. The activity brought together key faculty members and TESDA representatives to craft and validate functional and competency standards under the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fishery sector.
Vice President for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance, Dr. Carmelo S. Llanto, emphasized that the initiative strengthens ASSCAT’s alignment with TESDA’s competency framework and reinforces its mission to produce certified and globally competitive graduates guided by the core values of ARISE. TESDA Provincial Director Remegias Timonio expressed full support for the collaboration, affirming, “Sa TESDA, Kayang Kaya.”
The workshop outputs will form the foundation for TESDA Training Regulations (TRs) in Soil Science and serve as groundwork for future accreditation and competency-based curriculum development. This milestone moves ASSCAT closer to building a skills-based, industry-responsive program that contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
