The Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) celebrated its faculty and staff during the regular Monday flag raising ceremony today, September 29, 2025, recognizing their pivotal roles in the college’s recent national and local achievements.
Organized by the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), the ceremony highlighted ASSCAT’s milestone in earning the Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Level II: Proficiency in Quality Management, conferred by the Office of the President on September 5, 2025, at Heroes Hall, Malacañang Palace. Certificates of recognition and appreciation were presented to faculty and staff who served as champions in institutionalizing quality management systems that brought ASSCAT to the ranks of the country’s most quality-driven institutions.
The college also honored the team behind ASSCAT’s distinction as an Excellence in Quality Assurance in Teacher Education (EQUATE) Awardee from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). ASSCAT stood among the top-performing Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) nationwide, one of only four SUCs in Caraga recognized during the awarding at the Manila Hotel on April 2, 2025.
As part of the 125th Anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service, ASSCAT likewise awarded employees and organizations who actively participated in the Environmental Clean-Up Day held last September 3, 2025. Faculty, staff, and students joined forces to clear the campus, the national highway, and nearby public spaces. The effort reflected the theme, “Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing para sa Bayan,” underscoring that true service extends beyond the workplace and into the community. This meaningful activity highlighted ASSCAT’s commitment to environmental care, sustainable development, and promoting greener, more livable spaces for all.
Individual faculty and staff were also lauded for excelling in the Bunawan LGU Sportsfest 2025, held September 24–26 as part of the Civil Service Month celebration. Highlights included Ms. Roselyn Ebero’s coronation as Ms. Sportsfest 2025, Mr. Ephraim Lagare’s 1st Runner-Up finish for Mr. Sportsfest, and cultural event wins by Ms. Cheryl Bacanto, Ms. Josephine Madayag, and the duet of Mr. David Marapao and Mr. Enrique Biñas Jr.
ASSCAT President Dr. Joy C. Capistrano expressed deep pride in the honorees, saying the recognitions affirm the college’s growing reputation as both a quality-driven institution and a community of dedicated educators and civil servants.
Vice President for Research, Innovation, Development, and Extension (VPRIDE) and PRAISE Committee Chairperson Dr. Ferdinand A. Dumalagan emphasized that celebrating faculty and staff achievements is a vital part of motivating employees, strengthening morale, and sustaining ASSCAT’s pursuit of excellence.
Today’s awarding forms part of ASSCAT’s observance of the 125th Civil Service Anniversary, paying tribute to the dedication and resilience of government workers who continue to advance excellence in education, governance, and service.
