ASSCAT, CHED, and Agusan del Sur Leaders Push for Research, Innovation, and University Conversion

Prior to the plenary deliberations, Agusan del Sur Representatives Hon. Adolph Edward “Eddiebong” G. Plaza and Hon. Alfelito Bascug engaged with CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis and ASSCAT President Dr. Joy C. Capistrano to tackle key institutional priorities. Their exchange focused on strengthening agricultural research and innovation, soil health programs, educational linkages in Australia, and ASSCAT’s conversion to full university status.

The dialogue also emphasized the need for budgetary support for agricultural innovation initiatives and expanded investments in education and training, underscoring ASSCAT’s commitment to widening academic opportunities, sustaining research excellence, and advancing regional development through strong local and global collaborations.

ASSCAT conveys its appreciation to Rep. Plaza and Rep. Bascug for their steadfast support in ensuring that the voice of Agusan del Sur is heard in critical discussions on higher education and agricultural progress.
