Marking its 33rd founding anniversary, the College of Teacher Education (CTE) of the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) chose to celebrate not just fanfare but with service.
On September 16, CTE faculty members visited Nueva Era Bunawan Elementary School, one of ASSCAT’s adopted communities, to spend a day with local pupils. Laughter filled the classrooms as faculty facilitated engaging activities designed to spark curiosity and joy in learning. Beyond lessons, they also distributed hygiene kits, a simple but practical gesture to promote health and well-being among the children.
Led by CTE Dean Dr. Shiryl T. Ytoc and ASSCAT Extension Director Boylen Cabag, and in coordination with the BLGU Nueva Era, the outreach program exemplified ASSCAT’s commitment to extending education and care where it is most needed.
The initiative quietly but clearly reflects the spirit of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Quality Education, Good Health and Well Being , and Partnerships for the Goals, showing how even local actions contribute to broader global aspirations.
