Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) marked the culmination of National Women’s Month 2025 with a program celebrating resilience, leadership, and equality. Held today, March 31, 2025, at the Socio-Cultural Center, the event brought together students, faculty, and staff to honor the invaluable contributions of women in all aspects of life.
A key highlight was a thought-provoking talk by Resource Speaker Raymond L. Maligro on Love, Sex, and Marriage. He tackled sensitive but important topics, emphasizing mutual respect, informed choices, and challenging societal stigmas. His engaging discussion encouraged participants to reflect on relationships, commitment, and empowerment in personal decisions.
The event also recognized outstanding participants in the NWMC 2025 Students’ Competition and the Best in Purple Fridays campaign, celebrating creativity and advocacy for women’s rights.
College President Joy C. Capistrano shared an inspiring message on the strength and determination of women, encouraging everyone to embrace their potential and support one another.
Beyond the celebration, the event reinforced ASSCAT’s commitment to inclusivity and gender equality, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Communities).
Here’s to a future where equality is not just a goal but a reality.
