𝐵𝒶𝓃𝒶𝓊𝑒, 𝐼𝒻𝓊𝑔𝒶𝑜 – Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) and the Regents of the University of California, representing its Los Angeles campus, Department of Anthropology (UCLA), have formalized a new collaboration agreement. Recently signed, this agreement outlines a broad range of cooperative activities aimed at enhancing international academic engagement and research.

The collaboration will encompass the exchange of academic materials and information, educational visits by faculty members and researchers, and the exchange of graduate students. Both institutions will also work together to organize joint conferences, symposia, and scientific meetings on topics of mutual interest.

This partnership was prominently featured at the 2024 Global Indigeneity Conference, held from August 21-26, 2024, in Banaue, Ifugao. The conference, which brought together scholars and experts to discuss global indigenous issues, included Ms. Ma. Riza Lopez of ASSCAT as a panelist. Ms. Lopez participated in the Panel on Land Issues, providing valuable insights into indigenous rights and land preservation.

The formal signing of the agreement between ASSCAT and UCLA underscores their commitment to fostering international academic cooperation. The collaboration was notably showcased during the Global Indigeneity Conference, where delegates from both institutions engaged deeply with the rich cultural traditions of the Ifugao people and explored new avenues for academic and research collaboration.
