𝘼𝙎𝙎𝘾𝘼𝙏 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙅𝙤𝙞𝙣 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝘿𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙪𝙚 𝙤𝙣 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙮 𝙖𝙩 𝘾𝙃𝙏𝙀 𝙈𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜

The Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT), represented by College President Dr. Joy C. Capistrano and Vice President for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance Dr. Carmelo S. Llanto, actively participated in the 33rd Meeting of the Committee on Higher and Technical Education (CHTE) today, at RV Mitra Building, House of Representatives Complex.
 
During the CHTE meeting, Dr. Capistrano presented the actions taken by ASSCAT to address areas for compliance, specifically highlighting improvements in faculty qualifications and the enhancement of learning resources.
 
The session, chaired by CHTE Chairperson Mark O. Go, convened various educational leaders and stakeholders to discuss and provide insights on the measures included in the meeting’s agenda. Prominent dignitaries from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), including Dr. Raul Muyong, Director IV of the Office of Institutional Quality Assurance and Governance (OIQAG); Atty. Jerome Christophe Leynes, Director of CHED Legal and Legislative Service; Rita Sescar, Assistant Chief of OIQAG; and other State Universities and Colleges (SUC) officials, served as key resource speakers.
 
Following the CHTE meeting, Dr. Capistrano and Dr. Llanto met with Agusan del Sur Congressman Eddiebong Plaza and Congressman Afelito Bascug to apprise them of the agreements reached during the CHTE meeting. They discussed the way forward for ASSCAT, emphasizing the guidance and support from the CHED Regional Office (CHEDRO) in implementing the new policies and initiatives.
 
Dr. Capistrano and Dr. Llanto’s participation highlighted ASSCAT’s commitment to actively engage in national discussions and policymaking processes to enhance the quality and accessibility of higher education in the region.
