The National Quality Assessment Team (NQAT) – CHED Composite Team has officially begun its validation visit at the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) today, December 3, 2024. This three-day visit aims to assess ASSCAT’s compliance with the requirements for its conversion to university status as mandated by Republic Act No. 11586.
With technical teams meticulously reviewing documents and conducting site validations, this visit is a culmination of preparatory work following CHED Caraga’s series of evaluations.
The law, signed on July 30, 2021, aims to transform ASSCAT into the Agusan del Sur State University (ADSSU), incorporating its Trento campus.
College President Joy C. Capistrano, alongside the institution’s Vice Presidents, Directors, Deans, Faculty, Staff, and Students, expressed optimism for the validation, marking a significant milestone in ASSCAT’s journey toward universityhood.
As the only state college among four State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the Caraga Region, ASSCAT is on the brink of making history with this transformative upgrade.
Stay tuned for updates as the process unfolds.
